Exhibition with Angela Louise Powell at Bus Projects in 2017.

For ‘Implicit/Explicit', Angela Louise Powell and Katie Ryan explore the intimate space of memory through sculptural forms. The title references implicit and explicit memory, the two types of long term human memory. Implicit memory is acquired and used unconsciously, whereas explicit memory is conscious recollection. The show will bring together both artists approaches to recreating memory, facilitating the potential for correlations and disjunctions. These points of convergence and deviation will evoke the changeable and autonomous nature of memory itself.
